Current Services

  • ICC policies, rules and standards are prepared by specialized working bodies called ICC Policy Commissions. Commissions examine major policy issues of interest to business community. The commissions are unique platform of the specific business sectors for policy makers, the government officials and the business community. The commissions improve the Public Private Dialog (PPD) and Public Private Partnership (PPP) on national business projects.

    ICC Afghanistan established the policy commissions based on the need of the business community and appoints delegates from these commissions to represent it at meetings of the ICC Headquarter Policy Commissions and develop positions papers through these expert groups:

    When a b business policy paper and recommendation is drafted by one of the above policy commission, it’s our job to share it with the relevant policy makers and we lobby for the implementation through different means of communications.   • The ICC International Court of Arbitration is a world leader in resolving international commercial dispute. When commercial disputes arise, ICC’s market leading dispute resolution services can be relied on to resolve them as efficiently and economically as possible. We offer a wide choice of administered procedures as an alternative to litigation for resolving domestic and international disputes. What’s more, our globally accessible and completely neutral services are available to anyone: from individuals and private sector enterprises to states and state entities.

    ICC Arbitration is a private procedure that leads to a binding and enforceable decision based on New York Convention. Since its creation in 1923, the Court has administered over 21,000 cases in the world. Dispute Resolution Services exist in many forms as follows:

    • Arbitration: is a flexible and efficient dispute resolution procedure leading to binding and final decisions subject to enforcement
    • Mediation: is a flexible technique, conducted privately and confidentially, in which a neutral facilitator helps parties to seek a negotiated settlement of their
    • Dispute boards: are independent bodies designed to help resolve disagreements arising during the course of a
    • Expertise: is a way of finding the right person to make an independent assessment on any subject relevant to business
    • DOCDEX: provides expert decisions to resolve disputes related to documentary credits, collections and demand guarantees, incorporating ICC banking

    The ICC Afghanistan Commission on Arbitration & ADR has been formed to reinvigorate the presence of ICC International Court of Arbitration (“ICC Court”) and its dispute resolution services in Afghanistan. The commission is responsible for spreading awareness of ICC Rules as a preferred choice for commercial dispute resolution through various events and interactions across Afghanistan by involving arbitration practitioners, general counsels and all concerned stakeholders.

    In cooperation with ICC International Court of Arbitration and ICC ADR Center, we provide the following dispute resolution services:

    • Coordination of Commercial cases with ICC International Court of Arbitration and ICC ADR Center;
    • Introduce arbitrators, mediators and experts from Afghanistan to ICC Arbitration Court and ADR Center, when there is any case and dispute from Afghanistan;
    • Advise the companies to add ICC Arbitration and ADR standard clauses to the contract;
    • Advise the contract parties to use online platforms of ICC Arbitration Court and ADR Center for their dispute settlement process, cost calculation, case management and other required services;
    • Coordinate the companies inquiries and questions with the ICC Court and ADR Center and facilitate their dispute settlement process;
    • Assistance for the enforcement of ICC Arbitration awards in Afghanistan through directing official letter to Directorate of rights (Hoqooq), Ministry of Justice of Afghanistan and other government  identities deemed necessary;
    • Professional Translation of Arbitral Awards into our local languages;
    • Organize ICC Dispute Resolution workshops, seminars and conferences to the law firms, companies, judges, arbitrators and other stakeholders;
    • Helping Government with amending the Laws related dispute
  • ICC publishes mainly for international traders, investors, lawyers, arbitrators, bankers, students and other people covering topics such as international banking, investment, international trade reference and terms, law and arbitration, counterfeiting and fraud and model commercial contracts.

    ICC Afghanistan is the authorized distributor of ICC Publications not only in international languages but also in local languages. The list of ICC products covers three broad categories: globally used rules  and standards, practical model contracts and vital handbooks and guidelines as bellows:

    1. Incoterms (International Commercial Terms) which are of constant use to importers & exporters;
    2. International business rules and model contracts;
    3. Trade Finance documents;

  • Staged all over the world, ICC events range from large topical conferences to training sessions for small groups. These smaller courses share ICC’s expertise on commercial arbitration and dispute resolution mechanisms as well as ICC’s trade tools including Incoterms® rules, uniform customs and practice for documentary credits (UCP) and international contracts. We offer:

    • Online training programs and tools for businesses through ICC Academy specialized system;
    • Physical trainings and workshops on Incoterms, Arbitration, Model Contracts, Tax clearance and other topics required by the members;

    Training Programs for Chambers: WCF also works to extend programmes of assistance and training for chambers, particularly from developing and least developed countries. One the most famous online training course is the International Certificate of Origin Online Training. The International Certificate of Origin (CO) online training programme provides you, as chamber trade documentation professional, both underpinning and advanced training and practices in CO issuance procedures.
